Adjustments & Manipulation

Adjustment_2.jpg Adjustments, or manipulation as they're sometimes referred to, are the minor movement of vertebrae in the spine or various joints of the upper and lower extremities (SPORTS CHIROPRACTIC). The objective of this movement is to realign vertebrae or extremities that have moved out of place for a number of reasons ranging from normal daily activity to trauma such as a car accident, contact sports injury, or a simple bodily movement.

When these vertebrae are out of place, it has an overall systemic effect from muscular to the central nervous system. Without proper alignment and flow of all nerves and systems in the body from the brain, we can't function at our "peak performance." When a joint of the upper or lower extremity is out of alignment, the result is a decreased range of motion, weakness, and typically pain.

All adjustments provided by Dr. Jim are by hand. He uses no adjusting instruments. This happens with a quick movement that is gentle and typically without any discomfort.

Spinal alignment, or as Dr. Jim refers to it (spinal hygiene), is absolutely necessary to keep the body functioning at the highest level.  When the body is in alignment, the body is able to respond and perform at its peak as it was designed to.
